How to prepare a DXF file for laser cutting

A clean DXF file saves quoting time and reduces production risks.

Send your project

PDF, DXF, STEP or a short brief. We reply with clear technical questions.

Request a quote

Simple rules

Keep contours closed, remove duplicate lines, check scale, separate different parts and specify material thickness.

What to send with DXF

Material, thickness, quantity, finish, target deadline and how the part will be used help us quote quickly.

  • DXF with closed contours
  • PDF for dimensions and tolerances
  • material, thickness and quantity
  • notes for finishing and packaging

Attention to detail through delivery

For finished, painted or visible-surface parts, we pay attention to handling and packaging: protective layers, grouped sets and clear communication about delivery.

Frequently asked questions

Is DXF enough for quoting?

For simple flat parts, often yes. For critical parts, PDF is better too.

Can I send multiple parts in one file?

Yes, if they are clearly identified.

DXF, STEP and PDF serve different purposes

DXF is effective for flat laser-cut contours, STEP shows the final 3D part or assembly, and a dimensioned PDF carries tolerances, threads, notes and critical surfaces. A clean DXF can be enough for a simple flat part, but bent or welded components are quoted more reliably when the 3D model and technical drawing confirm the intended final geometry.
